Whether playing in online poker rooms or in real casino games at the poker tables, poker will test your skills and strategic abilities. No matter which of the poker variations you play, it's crucial that you understand the rules for poker games and what hand beats what in poker. In a variation most common in live online poker, Texas Holdem, players are dealt two cards face-down (hole or pocket cards), followed by a round of betting using poker chips. Three cards are simultaneously turned ("flop") with another round of betting. Two additional cards are turned one at a time (Turn card, then River card), with one betting round after each. These are community cards, and may be used in any winning combination with other cards. One may even use no personal cards to form a hand (play the board). The game may be played with just one blind or more blinds, an ante, or combination of both blinds and antes. A dealer button indicates where cards are dealt from in online poker gambling. After betting concludes, the showdown occurs. Remaining players compare their hands comprising any five-card combinations from their 2 pocket cards and the 5 common cards. The player with the highest ranking hand takes the pot. Two or more players will sometimes have hands of equal rank or the winning hand uses all 5 common cards, and the pot will be shared amongst them. Calculations are all automatically done, so don't worry about online poker cheats.

One of the most appealing poker cake designs has to be an Aces poker cake. True enough, this cake showcases a familiar image to all poker enthusiasts. If you are in the mood to bake and take some time to make an aces poker cake of your own, then it is best to prepare the necessary tools and ingredients for baking and crafting.
An Aces poker cake, simply put, is a cake imitating a pile of Ace cards. The cards may be of any design, intricate or plain, so long as it is a cake that looks like a heap of Aces. To make an Aces poker cake, one should be at least aware of how the cards really look like. If not, it would be a great idea to look for actual samples so you can have a guide in making the cake. Several home-made recipes for cake bases, complete with procedures, are posted on the Internet. It is just a matter of finding them.

Before I start, for the trivia lovers, let me just say this, "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker" is actually a song penned and performed by the OAR, it's a rock band. It was on an album that came out in the mid 90s, so there, but I am not here to talk about that. Before I start, for the trivia lovers, let me just say this, "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker" is actually a song penned and performed by the OAR, it's a rock band. It was on an album that came out in the mid 90s, so there, but I am not here to talk about that. When I and my gangmates (poker, we do not rob banks) say "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker"- we usually refer to a big-time game of the bigshots (at least most of the field) where the totally unexpected happens. When I say 'unexpected', it could be a lot of things, but upset losses/wins are among them. You know one of my upset-results favorites in WSOP history? That would be the Finale "war" between Jennifer Harman (such a gorgeous being) and Lyle Berman. This was the five grand NL Deuce finals table, and the last 2 WARRIORS standing were Berman and Harman, and to say that Harman was the underdog is just like stating the most obvious- that a ball thrown in the air will go down. When it was just the 2 of them, Berman was very comfortable with 3:1 in terms of chips, to be exact- $245,000-$80,000, a great difference. After so many interesting poker action, Harman had to give 133,000 dollars, and she just had 59 thousand remaining. In this game that was a crazy game of poker, the lady went ballistic, in a sense. Knowing that her salvation would come from being aggressive, she did exactly that. In that most momentous hand, Berman revealed a 10/8/7/5/4, while Jennifer had 8/5/4/3/2, and that resulted to Berman's chunk of chips melting down into a single one thousand chip left, the end of everything (for Berman) followed very soon after. This game made Harman into a world celebrity in the world of gambling, and even Berman must have said that night, "That WAS a crazy game of poker".

It is both amusing and (yes) scary to note what I've read in some magazines, that Las Vegas as a whole has more cameras (on per sq ft basis) than any American airport. That statement may be debatable, but there is a point in there waiting to be realized. Found in secret halls of Las Vegas poker rooms casino, a number of security experts hired by the management are studying data on both employees and guests. They depend on the multitudes of cameras installed in so many places at the casinos. These experts would study if this particular character is exhibiting suspicious decorum, is just a plain weirdo. These experts of the Las Vegas Poker Rooms Casino would compare names with other databases, a lot of times using the high-tech facial-recognition programs. Security technology, according to the insiders, have branched out to other non-gambling sites, just like parks and malls. According to one of the top guys of the Las Vegas poker rooms casino of Stratosphere, it all goes down to one question - are you a bad guy or a good one? In other words, is this guy a threat or a harmless one as far as the casino's interests are concerned? Answering that question is the objective for the security people.

Poker Room Venetian or Venetian Poker Room is an interesting gambling venue, allow me to give you a mini-review. Number one, if you are a smoker, prepare yourself to keep on going out of the poker arena if you wish to smoke, it's a no-smoke policy at the Poker Room Venetian. When you enter this poker room for the very first time, there are 2 words that would immediately enter your mind, "class" and "VIP". How so: rich wood and gorgeous interior, expensive chandeliers up there, or the food- which are offered even to the low-rollers. Have you ever experienced playing in an off-Vegas, seedy, Class C poker room, that kind where 20 tables have been crammed in a hall that should only hold about 5 tables? Where you could not move an inch without bumping into somebody? Well, the Poker Room Venetian, you'll never experience that. Fact is, if you play poker blindfolded, and from your chair to the restrooms-you remain "blind", there is a chance you won't bump into somebody. (Hopefully you won't crash headlong into a wall however, the walls cannot move by themselves). If you are a high-roller, there is a segregated room at the Poker Room Venetian, this is the equivalnt of Bellagio's Bobby's Room.

Let me give you a couple of new online poker law news, two actually, focusing on Germany and on Finland. German first, the ban and the reaction of the public. Managers/entties that operate online gambling/poker have been 'kicked' with a prohibition, and this ban, permits German states to deem it illegal for banks/financial establishments to work with online wagering entities. No other words about it, their own version of UIGEA. The ban may be there, but according to the various New Online Poker Law News, a mediocre amount of persecution against erring entities makes it possible for many individuals to keep on playing. As per expert studies/reports, close to 300,000 Germans engage in Net poker. Take this: Boris Becker himself is the spokesman for one of the biggest names in the world of Net poker. Now, for the second New Online Poker Law News, according to Finnish newspapers, the government is studying about amending present gambling legalities. Engaging in poker online used to be tantamount to being able to claim losses from the games, but maybe that would change very soon. A part of the amendment could mean that the online sites would prohibit Finnish citizens. Well, what am I supposed to say, let us hold our breath, or better still, let us just wait, BUT NOT hold our breath. It may be a long time in coming, really.

Among other entities/programs, WPT is one of those that regularly provides the gambling world (poker buffs) with a peek into the pros' action in TV poker rooms, televised poker action in other words. Let me give you just a couple of contests that you might want to take note of, first is on March 23 at 1am, that would be the Borgata Poker Classic- TV-PG (L). That would be 5 sharks versus the "World". A group of pros/strong amateurs battle it out against Johnny "World" Hennigan, prize money of 1.6M dollars would be up for grabs. Another enticing show from these multitudes of TV Poker Rooms would be on March 22 at seven pm, that would be the WPT Invitational III (TV-PG). Definitely, some of the strongest card warriors in the world would be gracing the event as WPT and Commerce Casino host this "battle". Now, before you fall asleep because all you are getting are schedules of the TV Poker Rooms and the events, here is something to wake up the men. From among the 3 or 4 hosts of WPT, in case you are wondering who that beautiful lady is, that's Sabina Gadecki. Born in Chicopee, her first tongue was Polish, and in 2002, she started acquiring fame by getting the "Miss Polonia World" award. Surely, her presence would add charm and fun to the upcoming games in the said TV poker rooms.

When I say 'poker series world' ladies and gents, I mean the most prestigious event on the world map, the WSOP or if you want the complete name, World Series of Poker. As early as now, friends of mine who have been competing in it for the past years are again jumping up and down in anticipation, as though they already knew they would reach the Finals. Anyway, still according to News Poker Series world accounts, Harrah's Entertainment just disclosed that online/live pre-registration for this year's WSOP is underway. If you are interested, here it is- you can go to the main cage of the Vegas' Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, or if you do not want to go there, you can do so online at the official site, which I think ALL of you know. Accepted methods in paying would mean cashier's check, cash, wire transfers, even Rio casino chips and checks to my house. Ehr..that very last one- where did that come from, scratch that one out. Tourney rules could be acquired from the website as downloadable forms, for all the 55 competitions. The pre-registration is open for all fifty-five contests in this 39th edition, and it would run from May to July of this year, so...I'll see you there guys? Keep yourselves posted on news poker series world.
