The World Series of Poker 2008 was held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a series of poker tournaments, which began on the 30th of May, 2008. The World Series of Poker has been facilitated by Harrah's Entertainment since 2004, when the company bought the annual event from the Binion family. In this year's event, Nikolay Evdakov got ahead of all the other players by having a record of ten money finishes in a single World Series. He broke the record of eight that Phil Hellmuth, Michael Binger, Chad Brown, and Humberto Brenes held. However, it was Erick Lindgren who won the Player of the Year Award. He won a bracelet and was able to make it to three final tables. Another notable player in the said event was Scotty Nguyen, who became the first player to bag both the Main Event and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E World Championship bracelets.

I have two kinds of poker blanket to tell you about, first, the real (on the market) kind of poker blanket. It is actually called Texas Holdem Poker blanket, it costs less than fifty bucks and while I will not tell you which firm sells it (I am not being paid to advertise them), their address is somewhere in Baker Street of Peterborough. This poker blanket is two-sided fleece, dimensions of 44" by 55". It would indeed be an excellent gift for a friend who loves poker articles, whether he actually gambles or not. Second is about my friend Hannah, yup, that is the real name. She has her own poker blanket, and believe it or not, she brings it to the landbsed all the time. It's quite a small blanket, it is made of thin material, and truth to tell, as far as I am concerned, it's a blanket for a child. Well, this poker blanket is her security BLANKET (I do not know if this is a PUN, you tell me), she even used it as a table top in one of the home poker parties she hosted. One time she forgot to bring it to the casino, and she lost one of the biggest sums she's ever had. She said it's because of the absence of her blanket, but I simply think it's a coincidence. That I will not say in her presence, lest she turns ballistic on me.

Before I go to the explanations, let me give you some actual bonus codes, take note, these were the codes the last time I checked, if they have changed it by the time you look them up, don't blame me please. Changing it anytime is the bonus code poker room's prerogative. Full tilt has BANKIT, Ultimate Bet has POKERKING, Pokerstars has a marketing code of First2008, while Bodog has 174352. No matter how rich you may be as a person, but free is free. I do not think you would refuse free money from the online room, right? In a bonus code poker room, they have promo codes, and by using this particular one, you would be eligible to some gratis money. PLEASE, if you are expecting millions of dollars, go and bet at the MegaMillions, bet everyday. Many online rooms would not give you the promo bonus when you don't sign up with a bonus code- it could be a link. If you wish to know at least a dozen Bonus Code Poker Rooms, then there are websites whose concentration is a review of every Bonus Code Poker Room in existence, oh well, at least most of them anyway. Just search, surf, and you'll be rewarded.

This is not exactly about tips or hints on technical play, but I am sure you would be interested to know about these things in the field of online poker rooms tournaments, but wait, let me say this right here and now. This is a practice of many online sites, but not ALL of them. This on the MTTs held by the rooms, and this is one particular rule that you have to know if you are intent of playing online poker rooms tournaments frequently. When a player gets disconnected, play would continue, whether he/she likes it or not. The antes/blinds would keep on, they would be posted still. If this happens to you, move at warp speed, log on at once. The player would be anted/blinded out if he is unable to reconnect to the site/games. In the world of online poker rooms tournaments, you have to accept the fact that disconnection is always possible. In the same manner that you cannot play basketball everyday and say, "I will not get sprained, never". The room's management would not carry the responsibility for those disconnected, whatever the reason may be. In the major rooms, if somebody is cut off during a hand's action, the grace period is just a short time, half a minute actually. When he fails to reconnect, the hand is considered as a fold, unless he is in an all-in status.

I personally, along with many other experts, consider the following as among the best poker rooms in Vegas. While this is not going to be a comprehensive review on the following sites, I'll be mentioning tidbits on all of them. The Bellagio: well, if this place is not included in any roster of the best poker rooms in Vegas, a great multitude of gamblers would wage a revolution. First, you would have the chance to see the Great Ones, like Negreanu and Jennifer Harman, among others. Second, you'll get to meet people from all walks of life, while many high-rollers go to this place, Bellagio is not their exclusive domain. You would not believe it if I told you that my friend Jack went in there with just 500$ and went on to play for a total of 7 gambling hours (without a recess). Indeed, one of the most elaborate poker rooms in Vegas is The Wynn, and in terms of games spread, it is not radically different from the first-mentioned casino. It has professional dealers and automatic card shuffling machines. Last, the MGM Grand- they have Holdem games at 3-6 dollars and 4-8 dollars and if you hate walking long distances, you'll like the poker venue here. It is right there by the casino's entrance, at least, it was there the last time I visited this major gambling site.

Now, if you own an account or two (and you are an American) at online gambling rooms, then this Internet poker legal news should interest you. EU launched their investigation into American laws as far as online gambling is concerned, this in the wake of a big development. What are these developments: European wagering companies lodged complaints against the White House (ehr, do not be literal, I mean the government), for the latter's actions of infringing on the rules of world trade. According to the latest Internet Poker Legal news, this investigation could make the 27-country EU to going to the WTO (again, didn't they do that already?), over a business valued at around 15B dollars/yearly. The officials of the American mission to the EU refused to say, and I don't know about you, but I think it's because it's a situation where anything they say (whatever leaning) could be used against them, but that is...my opinion. To refresh your memory, in 2006, WTO rules against the American ban stopping American credit card firms/banks from facilitating payments to Net gambling entities outside the nation's jurisdiction. The reaction of the White House: having a deal with Canada and Japan (and others)- which would permit them to opt out of the mandates of WTO (on the gambling) in exchange for compensation in other elements.
